Something was unhappy in the valvetrain. Hope it didnt damage too much else...

The only other damage we were able to find were the lash caps. They took a beating. Just simply sheared the back of the cam off. Three seasons on that cam. The lifters lifted right out. Block looks good.
I am sure we need a new cam bearing though....

I met him briefly at NYIRP last year. Sorry, horrible with names.
Right now we are just looking to get a cam and a couple of push rods on order. Bearings and gaskets I think we have, and I am going to port match the intake to the heads while they are off. We might even put new rings and a quick hone on it, we will see. Springs also need to be checked, but they all looked fine, I didn't see any broken ones.

I had that happen several years ago on my 440 in my street Charger. Spun a cam bearing. Broke the cam just behind the #4 journal. Drove it home on 6 cylinders. Pulled the valve covers #7 & #8 rocker were not moving. Required a full rebuild though. Filled the filed with babbit material.
