someone had a post about this a while back.
they cut the tab off the tail housing to slide the shaft out just enuff to change the o-ring on it, then pushed it back in and made a small bolt on tab to hold the pin all the way forward.
the idea was to change the o-ring with trans in the car with out R&R of the tailhousing/pan/VB/low/revs strut/lever.
seemed to work ok for them when done.
I have fixed a couple by jacking up rear,clean with brake clean, airdry, use mopar ATF/RTV black filling in the hole/end of shaft.
the mopar ATF/RTV holds up the best with anything with trans fluid.
