Part# DF071800 for the complete assembly
Part# DF384071 for the disc only
I just bought a new assembly and used these numbers. 'Was going to use the old cover and just buy the disc, but changed my mind.

What sort of power are you putting out? This is the problem buying clutches, they rate them as "street, "street/strip", etc but in reality this is meaningless.

My motor is a stroker in the 600 hp range, mainly street use in a '69 b-body. I currently have a Hays "street" pp with the hays "street/strip disc". Since the motor isn't in the car yet I'd rather sort this clutch issue out now.

Thanks.

As stated in my sig, I've gone 11.14 @ almost 123 mph. HP calculator with a 3900+# car says that I'm making around 635 hp at the flywheel and around 545 at the back tires. With the CFDF I've pull 1.50 60' times. Most of the time I'm around 1.58, spinning the tires a bit.

By the way, I've used this Hays set up that you have now. It doesn't work at our power levels.

Thanks for the info. One last question ... are the trowout bearings pretty much standard between the CFDF and my current Hays setup or would I have to replace that too (its brand new).

The short answer is "Yes". 'Slight differences in the face that touches the pressure plate, some are wider than others, but all in all they are the same.

So, I take it you're slipping the tires a bit on the launch to soften the hit on the drive line? I'm glad to see the 18-spline is living at over 600 HP.
Awesome car, btw. Love stick cars.

Exactly. Something has to slip at launch, either the clutch or the tires. I prefer to spin the tires a bit. With an automatic, the converter does the slipping.

Thought you were trying to say that I was slowing down because I'm older than you?

Centerforce is no longer producing 18 spline discs so whatever you find is old stock.I got the "backorder" runaround when I was looking for a new CF DF disc so I ordered a new McLeod 600 series disc from Jamie Passon.
I'm gonna try the Centerforce II plate with the McLeod 600 series disc and see how that works out

Called Jegs and went to the counter at Summit and NEITHER store had the 11" 18 spline dual friction disc in the stock. That is when I called Jamie and he didn't have any left and told me why.
So I ended up with the McLeod

Don't know when you did that but last night on Summits site it showed the disc part would ship immediately, meaning in stock. Jegs showed a few days delay, meaning no stock.

I just order the pp and disc as a kit from Jegs, ships Monday.

When did you get that pp on clearance from Summit? Is that an "in store" deal only?

The plate I got from Summit was on the clearance and return tables. In the store they put all kinds of stuff out there, some scratch and dent items and some wrongly ordered parts.
When I bought the plate I walked up to the counter to buy the matching disc and they were on backorder according to my sales "professional".
So I then asked about the DFX disc and they told me it would take 6-8 weeks for my order so I said no thanks and called Jamie for a comparable disc.

The only reason I went with the Ram disc was because the DFX disc was on back order when I was ready for it. I changed my mind about the DFX disc due to cost if for no other reason.

This must have been earlier this year. Around April or May. That's about the time I was looking to buy a DFX disc.
