Sorry to hear about your health.. I had to qiut driving in 95 due to failed eyesight. Being a longhaul driver it was a hard pill to swallow but at least Im still kicking..

Hang in there Ted. Mike started letting his daughter drive his 64 a couple years ago. Disconected the secondaries, and ran it that way until he felt she could handle the car. She makes more passes in the car than him now. I think he has more fun watching her go rounds, and having a good time.

so sorry to hear the news ted ! i kinda know how this is affecting you as i was diagnosed with ms 10 or 12 years ago. since then, there has been drastic changes in my life, but as has been said already, this is just a life course correction, not a game over. just find a young buck to take under your wing and "download" all your knowledge into him and you will be doing a huge service to many by passing the torch . knowledge is something that must be preserved by any means possible ! keep your chin up - you ain't done yet !

Ted, sorry to hear this But I read a lot of good stuff in this thread about how guys have moved on, and learned a lot. It also helped me see back to my experiences as a "crew chief" for a buddys car. It was a riot! What ever the outcome, I know you will find a VERY fun way to enjoy the sport!

I am sorry Ted.... I know this is a huge passion of yours... I hope you can keep up involvement in some capacity. The sport needs racersike you.

Some great replies here,Thanks everyone! There is no way that I could walk away from this sport. I love it too much! I hope the car is ready for the Mopar Max race at Cedar Falls,I think Jimmy will be behind the wheel. My wife is behind me 100% and also wants to see the car run.I am very limited to what I can or can't do. No lifting bending etc. I am going to have someone put one of the new heads on a table so I can start the mock up of the rockers...

Boy I wish you were closer so I could lend you a hand getting her back together. Just don't push yourself at this time as we don't want to hear about any health set-backs.

Give it some time ; the human body is a marvelous rejeuvenating machine that likes to heal itself. Maybe have another MRI in a few months to see if things have improved.

It's far from game over as has been said above ; lots of things to do and people to meet enjoying your favorite hobby.

A coworker of mine passed away this week from cancer....Mike was 53 yrs old and 2 years away from retirement. That's "game over"....Rip Mike

Take it easy for awhile and let yourself heal up

I salute you for keeping a good attitude, and I agree with the previous post. Throw a cover over the car for a few years, I had to do it to pay college bills.
