In my '68 Dart I recently installed a good running '66 225/904 that came out of a '66 Valiant. My Dart is an original 225 car. The center link is only about 1/8" from the oil pan directly in line with the oil drain plug.
Does anybody know if an A-body V8 center link would add some clearance? I wouldn't mind hammering on the pan a bit, but I'm evaluating my options at this point. I don't want to pull the engine or the pan if I don't have to.
Thanks!

I think the 66 pan is slightly different than the 68 pan. The 64-66 V8 centerlink does have a lower drop. If nobody knows go here www.slantsix.org they'd know in a heartbeat

There is no "V-8" link for the '68-72 A bodies, they used the same one for 6 & 8 cyl.

The 63-66 link is different and will not work.

You need the correct pan and pickup.

Thanks for the info. It may not be the answer I was hoping for, but now I know how to proceed.

Used to go through the same thing with my '66. The later pan came oh-so-close to working, but was not close enough.
