Stephen just texted me and said he can get the 1 7/8" TTI B/E body headers to fit in the Rocky, just have to reroute one #7 tube on the driver's side and "massage" a tube (probably #8) on the Pass side. Psyched about getting a proper sized system on the 414 finally and getting rid of the 1 5/8" 'pipe-cleaners' that were on there.

Really can't say enough great things about Stephen and Mike Daurity, awesome people with awesome skillz...plus always a heapin' helping of that NC hospitality

Hoping Stephen will post up some pics if he's up to it

hopefully as soon as I get it back.

Stephen's gonna play with it some once the headers are on and we'll hopefully tweak it for the ideal (controllable) RPM launch with a 2-step.

I'm expecting the bigger tubes to kill just a little bit of the bottom end and maybe soften the converter hit just a (helpful) tad, in exhange for both a higher torque and HP curve up top (above around 4400 or so)....both good things for getting down the track. The bigger tubes also now give the combo more room to use a higher lift cam to make better use of the Airwolf heads so it's all a good strategy I think.

Chip, you bet, buddy!

Ted, Yeah it is but it's also fun as all get out to drive. I was always a fan of 'Wild Willie' Borch growing up and still to this day wish the NHRA would bring back AA/FA....fuel altereds forever!! Rocky is hardly an AA/FA but the big power short wheelbase thing has been a Lot of FUN trying to sort out.

85.5"

But once it's off the line it goes straighter than ANYTHING I've ever driven in 32 yrs, Chip can tell you (since he stood behind it at the line) it tracks like it was on rails.

What I think helps it is the steering box is a very slow ratio and the weight distribution is uncannily well balanced, the CG is directly under my butt! (see the sketch I did a couple yrs back)

Craig,

Yeah, I'm afraid you might be right, 1 7/8 seems to be a great all around header size that doesn't cost you much overall even when it's a little bigger or smaller than optimum.
