superwrench master Joined: Oct 2003 Posts: 2,537 PORT ALBERNI , BC., CANADA	Yes...if one of the rectifiers goes sour, the alternator usually starts whining. Used to be able to buy rectifier packs, but I think those days are long gone.

They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.
