I've got a '71 GTX with a stock reproduction antenna.

The base plate for it sits flush against the fender..but..the hole in the top of the fender is on an angle due to the fender being roundish, so my antenna is leaning awkwardly away from the car.

Does the antenna bend at the very base above the bezel?

Did they used to have shims that I'm not seeing?

Thank you.

I think you need to rotate the bezel. Isn't one side is thicker than the other?

From memory, the top bezel is curved on the 71/72 fenders to let the mast point straight up.

That bezel should be your solution, I think everything else would be the same. Here's an auction for one and you can see how one side is lower than the other.

look at your bezel. one side is thicker than the other. the thicker side should be located towards the outermost part on the fender.

The last repop antenna I bought came with the wrong chrome bezel which made the antenna sit crooked. Mine was for a cuda but maybe you have the same issue? I found the proper bezel which fixed it.
Just out of curiosity, where did you buy it? Mine came from Dales Cuda shop, not bashing them but I know there were a couple people who had that problem.

So do (ALL) the ones from Dale's do this? Or have they straightened it out? I was gonna call and order one on Monday.

Got the same issue on my 72. Definitely interested in finding a solution.

With my old bezel it is straight. If I get it and its not straight, I'm having the original bezel that sits right, re chromed. I will post my findings.

I purchased a repop from Year One many years ago, and the antenna sits straight with it....
