I tried the flex Milodon stick and the oil was wiped off by the bends. I tried the Mancini stick for use with headers and it fit fine on the engine stand but didn't play nice with PS in the engine compartment. The re-pop stick worked best. Minor PITA to pull it when pulling headers but no biggie.

Now I just undo the compression fitting if I need to remove the dipstick and no one sees the fitting. I used a re-pop from Mancini's and still ended up making a little bracket that attached to the second header bolt at #1 on my Hemi / TTI set up. 1957 Power wagon wm300 original 10.000 mile truck, 1964 dodge Polara Convertible numbers matching

srt ESYC Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 16,662 Jefferson State	Along that line a friend bent one from trans/brake line and brazed a finish nail cut and looped around the tube. After fitting the tube he cur to lenght rather than re-marking the stick. When done it looked original.

mickm master Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 4,179 California	i mangled a few as well, but finally have one that fits. it is snug against the header, so i don't even have a bracket. should probably do that, but it's in there tight. just takes a little time and making very small bends each time. test the dipstick for travel all the way through the tube with each new bend. you will get to a point that the dipstick won't go past the major bend right before it goes into the block, and then you're kind of stuck.

Schumacher used to have on that worked with TTI's but their supplier won't make anymore for some reason. So I am going to try one that Mancini Racing says will work. I'll give an update when I get it.

I bought a couple different factory style dipsticks when I first started putting my hemi together. After mangling them up trying to get them to fit like I wanted around my TTI 2 1/4" headers, I bought the Milodon piece. thehemikid top fuel Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 1,805 ky hills	I just started on my exercise-in-futility last Sat. Bought a 3/8" fuel line. Put 2 single flare clamps on it facing each other about a 1/4" apart. Put 2 C-clamps on them & created a little hump to catch the block. All it needs is a tiny swell. Needed a nasty first bend to clear the Schumacher bolt for a socket to fit. (made a socket wrench weld-ment to clear the TTI's 2&1/8" #1 primary if needed) The dip stick gets real tuff at the last bend, ... but choking up on it gets it past that then she's fine. I figured that tight bend might wipe the oil but so far its fine. The shinny spot is where my 80's bought flaring clamp/vise kept sliding. The other one was my dad ~60's clamp, ...that bit like it's supposed to. 7753997-1dipstick.jpg (1322 downloads)

But all this may not matter if the tube doesn't clear the P/S box & high pressure hose & fitting. Looks good but putting the dipstick in and out may be a little tough with such a sharp bend. How is removal of the tube? It being on the side with the starter if you ever have to loosen up the header to change the starter " and you will!" that tube may have to come out so you can finagle the starter out and back in. 1957 Power wagon wm300 original 10.000 mile truck, 1964 dodge Polara Convertible numbers matching

I cut the tab off and made a slight bend and reused the mount tab that came with the repo kit.Now it works, but this was with the motor out of the car. I also talked to the man that actually makes these and he said that he was going to do some research on what the problem was with the fit. He was very nice and said he would re work it or fix it if I tore it up,a refreshing difference from most people that supply stuff for us. I also was able to use the fire sleeve and the white cover that goes on the handle from the repo kit, except for the location most people won't know it from a stock one. 7754151-DSCN0555.JPG (623 downloads)
