Eliminate it.You can do the Madd conversion in the archives or for quick I just use a screw and nut and put the 2 wires together and tape them up.Its common for the amp gauge to go bad.Mines been bypassed for probally 20 years.I run a volt meter.Problem solved.Rocky

That fix came to me after my panic attack!!LOL I forgot about that easy fix. The poor car has too many add ons to the fuse box and after 47 years things are starting to fry!!! I just need it to stay together for 2 hours till my daughters prom is over.

What Rock said: pull a batt cable then put both of the large ammeter wires on one of the two ammeter studs. (Dont matter which one). If there's more than 2 wires put all of em on the same stud

That will work I had to solder a new end on the red wire and I bolted the two wires together, car's running all lights are on and the wire isn't heating up. Should get me thru till Sat. eve.

mine has an aftermarket amp gauge connected to a set under the dash. The wires were just extended to it

Just hope that after market amp gauge dosen go up in smoke.Dont ask how I know.Install a volt gauge.Simple easy and no danger like amp gauges.Just remember old Mopars draw a ton of current thru that amp gauge.Rocky
