454Baja OP member 4 Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 91 Upstate NY	I reused the old lock and buffed it up to look like new. After a dozen uses it no longer opens and I am stuck. There is no way I can squeeze my #$%^ thru the back seat frame and am residing to drilling out the lock. Anyone do this and will it work? i then need to buy a new one which I have not done yet.

If so several long 3/8 extensions/a swivel socket & some electrical tape around the swivel to keep the socket in line might do the trick. Never drilled one but it's doable (patience & a sharp quality bit). Supercuda About to go away Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 14,889 up yours	Never tried this on a B body, but I was able to make a long enough extension out of some flat stock to pop the lock from inside after I removed the rear seat in my old C body. I would also seriously consider getting a can of spray graphite lube for locks and try that before I drilled out my lock. They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

I popped out the rear seat and squeezed my 280lb fat azz thru the package shelf bracing and opened the truck by tripping the lock's linkage. Made it to work with 2 minutes to spare!

Look for the screw driver slot just about in the middle of the lock mechanism. I just drilled it out. Started w/ a small bit then a larger one until I could get a long skinny screw driver in. Still that way today. I didn't even remove the assembly.
