Hi all. I am in the process of building a 1972 cuda. I have no hood for it and can not decide what I want. Anybody have pics of cowl hoods, or aar, maybe even a fiberglass shaker hood? I honestly love them all and don't know what I want. I do like the look of the big tired cuda's with cowl hoods.
I do know I want a fiberglass hood, but thats all I know.

Why would you put a Chevy hood on your Cuda?

I like your cowl hood too 70blackfish. Where did you get it? I am also curious if you had to move your frame rails for those big meats.

Because they work, and look good at the same time...And a lot of the vendors that make Mopar hoods butcher them.

I forsee myself having the same delima, not being able to decide what hood to run.

I think what I'm going to do is get 2 hoods, the AAR style and the 2-scoop raisin bran hood preferably in fiberglass if I can find one in good shape.

Prep and paint both hoods.

Then, I can change the look of the car in less than 30 minutes by swapping out hoods

--of course, what I may WANT to do, and what I can actually AFFORD to do when my car gets to that point... well, that remains to be seen

Lotsa nice scoops out there, but IMO, if it's an option.....NOTHING looks better than a stock style shaker.

Unfortunately, in my case, the screw blower got in the way.

I do agree, I love the shaker hood. I've thought about a fiberglass one. But if it looks cheesy or not somewhat authentic, it may not look very good. Plus the issues of getting the bubble right. I did see one with the bubble attached to the hood, but I haven't seen any pics of one on a car.

True....there are some not very good looking replicas available.
