Looking for a web site that tells were the date codes are on an 8 3/4 rear end. I am talking about from the first year to the last year of the 8 3/4.

If you're looking for something like the BOM stamps on the Dana 60, you won't find it on the 8 3/4". Externally, the casting date on the third member and internally the date stamped on the ring gear is all there is.

69 Barracuda 3.23 w/o Sure Grip, dated 10/23 for early November SPD. Among other things, had the blue paint daub shown on the bottom of the case and the yellow circle on the housing at bottom left of photo.

Date codes I think are on the Chuck only , never seen one on a housing .
There's always one in the crowd.

John, I suggest you move.... Yeah out here we are lucky & find markings that in many areas are lost forever.. FWIW there is a date code & an axle assy number... And on this particular vehicle the axle was assembled one day after the third member was assembled...

The paint blotches on the underside of the carrier (black, blue, pink, etc.) were put on to indicate which gear package it had, ratio, etc.
