Is it necessary to realign the wheels if i want to lower the front end 1-2 inches?
Car is totally stock, just don't want to wreck the new tires..

Yes, changing ride height will require a re-alignment. It wont be off a ton but, still enough to cause wear.

you dont want it to get it lower than where it was supposed to be from the factory. The suspension geometry is best at stock height,,,,just looseingng the torsion bars to get it lower will make things worse.

Come on guys! People have been lowering the ride height of Mopars below stock for decades without ill effects!
A drop of 1 inch isn't likely to cause tire wear issues, 2 inches is another matter. Consider this, STOCK alignment specs of these old cars were designed for bias ply tires and often called for slightly positive camber. Positive camber sucks. Lowering the front will change the camber towards the negative........l.that is a GOOD thing if the car is positive at stock height and on radial tires.

I would drop an inch, maybe even 1.5 below stock without giving it a second thought. If it keeps you up at night then get it re-aligned, but align it to "your" specs, not 40 year old factory specs!

I always lower mine and do a home done alignment. Never had a problem with tires wearing... usually last longer than newer cars I have.

Will not hurt a thing...Lower and enjoy!
