3.23s to 3.55s isnt really noticeable. 3.73s would be better but they are not available for all 3 cases IIRC. I like my 3.91s and would love to go to 4.30s but I have a OD 833 which helps a lot..

(1) 3.91 (2) swap in a 451  . Exhaust/brackets etc all will change over
live every 24 hour block of time like it's your last day on earth

My 383 in my 70 Satellite is also a little lazy off the bottom. I think maybe just a bit too much cam in mine. I run 3.23's and have 275-60-17 rear tires. They measure right at 30". Last spring I put 3.91's in and ran them for a month or so. it helped it turn on sooner but it was exactly the same at initial start. I know it needs a converter, that would be the correct fix, but I am going to stay with the 1800 anyway. It runs pretty good from 2800 to 5500 or so.

sounds familiar.the bee has a 2000 stall in it.i am getting ready to put headers on it and upgrade the carb to a 750 cfm along with the posi and the 3.73.i hope its a different car.not that its bad now,just want to be able to burn both tires until i let off the throttle!

You may or may not burn both tires until you let off with a 2000 RPM 'verter. I'm running the Hughes Whiplash (0.518 lift, 229 degrees intake 242 degrees exhaust at .050) cam with 3.73 gears and 275/15/60 rear tires. It took some doing, but I finally got it tuned correctly and now can cook the tires from a standing start. Just standing on it, not doing a brake burnout first. That's with a 'verter that flashes to 2500 RPM. Not that I want to blow the tires off from a start, that doesn't get you to far to quick. If I bring up the R's a bit against the 'verter first it gets better traction. That way I'm not shocking the suspension and breaking the tires loose so bad. Just sayin'.

. If your running a 727 think about changing the first gear ratio for more low end grunt 
I've done that on several BB cars, both street and strip and strip only 
but ain't spinning the crap outta it at highway speeds....very drivable!! It now has a 470" in it(still 4spd) so it's lots of fun and still very highway friendly
