They actually do work, but you need to be sure to put them in the correct spot on the mirror. I have always had the best luck with the lower outside corner for placement.

I have one on the passenger side of my truck. Seems to help when backing up with close clearances.
If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

I like the small wedge shaped ones best.They show the blind spot well without showing too much of the other lanes on a multi lane highway.
