I am chasing out my electrical gremlins and now am stumped on the turn signals, the car is 70 roadrunner. I have no signals and want to know where the power to the switch comes from. The steering wheels off and I have a new switch, tried it and does not work. I put a meter on the contacts and have no power. I am assuming power should be here on the contacts and the switch bridges the contacts. So I think I am not getting power to here. So it is bot a switch but the power source, the fuses look a intact and the schematic looks like the power comes thru the switch. The car turns over over and flashers work. Any ideas or leads to help me?

Thanks

Did you check for power in and out of fuses? Do you have a flasher? Signal flasher is separate from hazards. I think it gets fed through ign switch to flasher. Do you have power to flasher?

or in my case, one flasher bad, directionals worked fine, until you had the lights on at night, then directional wouldn't flash just came on and stayed on,replaced all flashers= good

what a pita
- first the aftermarket (china auto zone) turn signal switch with the wire contacts were to long so they did not make contact with the brass buttons in the switch. This prevented power into the circuit.Clipped the contact wires to allow the right fit and powered was transmitted.

- once I figured this out still the front right signal was not working, I metered the firewall connection where the signal comes out and there is nothing for power. The other 3 corners are working.

Now I will try the signal switch test enclosed above to see if its in the switch, at this point thats all thats left. Power is coming thru the flasher and the fuses are good.

I suspect I will pulling the column down for this one.

Thanks for the help
