Vernon, Ohio	torque their lug nuts on their cars, drag or street driven? , never did before but I am thinking about doing it with the new wheels. Light travels faster than the speed of sound,,,this is why some people seem bright untill you hear them speak.

Moparteacher mopar M Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 610 Boise	I torque the lug nuts on everything. When over-tightened, the rotor or hub can warp causing brake issues along with the usual problems of stretching, galling, and wheel damage.

I use 100lbs but that's just me...lol. Well, art is art, isn't it? Still, on the other hand, water is water! And east is east and west is west and if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does. Now, uh... Now you tell me what you know.

On newer stuff with discs and especially with aluminum wheels I use a torque wrench at 100 ft.lbs. assuming the standard 1/2 in. fine thread lugs. I'll recheck about 50 miles or so after the initial tighening and everytime before an autocross.

I find I always over-torque the lug nuts and caliper bolts to avoid them coming lose if I don't use the torque wrench. Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat Hear my motor screamin while I'm tearin up the street
