Anyone have any or know where I can buy a pair of rear "oil" filled shocks?? I am looking for the least expensive type brand, loosest traveling, no frills, oil filled long shock that would be the correct length for the rear of a 69 or 70 C-body car??

E-mail - Challengers1970@aol.com

Thanks in advance!!!

Pretty close.......thanks!!! Wish they were still going for the $6.99 and up prices like they used to though.........

About $27 bucks each including shipping I think?

Don't know if you can do any better on a new shock.....maybe there's a used set out there

I think the only non-gas charged shocks you might find are the old Koni's for around $125 each

$201 a pair front on sale

$242 a pair rear on sale

Think this is the way I might go because they're adjustable.

I was just in an O'Reily's auto parts store and saw the entire line up of Monroe shocks and the bottom shock the Monroe-Matic-Plus looks like an air/oil shock so I asked the you kid who was processing my purchase if that's what they were?

I was floored when the young kid said "I don't know, do they make such a thing" I said can you ask someone else? "Naw they wouldn't know either" I got so pis...miffed that I walked out and for got my credit card and had to go back and get it

I'll check out the Monroe Matic's and see what they are and how much they are too.

yep.......even some of the older people that work at the auto parts stores don't seem to know anything and its rare when you find someone that doesn't have to ask what auto manufacturer a Road Runner or GTX was made by........"very sad"......

Don't all shocks have oil movement through valving or orifices, gas charged or not??

I thought the gas charging was an added feature
for whatever purpose...maybe sales hype??

Joe

Nitrogen charged shocks are a feature as the nitrogen is more stable in high heat applications and the gas pressure (usually 100+ psi) helps keep the shock fluid from "cavitating" when the shaft/piston moves very quickly like when hitting a pothole a speed. A shock with a gas/oil separator (Dr. De Carbon type) is even better because it keeps the gas/air from emulsifying or aerating reducing the damping.
