I was driving my RR around town today, and it developed a pretty bad lifter tick/clack...it got to where it was missing on the cylinder in question

This is a 86 roller cam 318...

Something is obviously wrong , is it a roller cam motor ? If so you are going to have to pull the intake to pull the lifter out to figure it out.

If it's a flat tappet engine it's either a collapsed lifter or the cam lobe is going flat .

even if someone had a similar issue the only way to fix it is to take it apart ...
