I asked Steff if he wanted us to keep pushing the engine. We could have tried a bigger Dominator, ran synthetic oil, move cam timing, added a vacuum pump and made 15" of vacuum to make more power. We also could have run the water temperture down to 120* and it WOULD have made more power guaranteed!

Steff wanted to tune it like he is going to run it in his car so 150* water temp, mineral oil and no vacuum pump is how this was tested. We were all pleasantly surprised! Steff doesn't have and he doesnt want a cage in his car. I am positive it will go fast enough to need one so leaning on the engine any harder was kinda pointless.

So it sounds like they aren't happy/massaged numbers, but with all the tricks you listed above, how much more power would it have made if you we're going for a hero number?

These numbers are just amazing. I race a lot with the LSx crowd. I haven't seen any of them making this kind of power short of a big cube LSx motor and aftermarket heads and far bigger cam. Speaking of cams, could you post the specs on it?

Steff - Can you explain why you went with a belt driven oil pump instead of the factory unit?

Was it just capacity or is there an issue with the factory pumps?

My Cam/Crank Belt Drive eliminates the factory front cover, so the stock pump no longer can be used. Plus I really like the belt driven pump as you can adust the pressure on the low speed side, on the pump and then adjust the high rpm pressure with the pulley ratio, to really dial it in to the motor. Plus, it looks cool! LoL.

Ok thx!

Been hearing lots that the G3 does like too much timing.
Somewhere between 20 and 23

When building the timing curve for our "as delivered" Drag Pak 5.7, it made the best power with 19.5* and was audible at 27*.

Tom, Steff had LSM grind him a custom camshaft which laid down at 7000 rpm. More importantly I'd like to know what improvements Steff made to the chamber of his 6.1 heads??? Port velocity vs cfm flow
#'s is number 1.
