Building a Aluminum block Hemi with Stage V heads and GRP rods so what size should I go with?
I want atleast 1100 HP.
The KB block is finished at 4.50 now and The rods are 7.100
What would you do.

I love it when people toss around HP numbers like dirty underwear.

I would to see pictures of the chassis that this engine is going into.

....there is nothing like driving my 1968 Hemi Dart around town and having people looking at you like you're nuts!!

If you go with a raised cam you will be limited to the expense of a timing belt and if you go with the Millinium head be prepared to modify lifter angle or spacing. When you set your sights to the moon, remember outer space travel gets expensive.Just ask HemiFred.

$600 cams. Man I wish they were that cheap for a 99 Hemi, as well as some of those other pieces and prices Fred listed. For instance the belt drive is $3400 for the 99.

Why not just buy someones 99 Hemi, makes 1300+ HP and only 499"

As stated already build it big and use the best head you can find. Headflow is what will determine HP, well that and RPM. Combine the two and you can make it with a wheel barrow full of cash.

This adds up to

$32,900 if anyone was curious. Not including the machine work and labor. So add 4-10K more for that and incidentals

Or, buy Al's 99 and make 1340+ for a fraction.

A 4.75" crank will fit fine in a standard cam block. I got my rotating assembly from Bob George , I used the chevy width journel crank and the 7.10" steel rods. Very little additional clearancing was required over my old 528 rotating assembly. You'll need some Good heads.Dave

i got 960 out of a 572 with replacement heads and cast crossram. i dont know how much more it would take but i think it could be done without millenium heads.

I got 852hp and 818ftlbs. out of my pumpgas 605. The heads are to small and it's done making power at 5800rpm. It still makes more power than my chassis has been able to use. I'm certain with the right combination you'll hit your goal.Dave

Or, just go the easy way and put a Roots blower on it.

Sam : There is a Keith Black Gear drive for raised cam block on e-bay you might want to look at it.

I got MGP 7.100 aluminum rods and raised cam block.I'm wondering if I could fit a Bryant 4.75 stroke crank with 2.20 journals.I think that's the hot ticket if it works out.
15.5 compression.
