These headers do not fit properly on 67 to 72 year model cars, they do fit on 73 and up due to the difference in the steering linkage on 67 to 72 cars the tierod end studs face up and hit the headers every time and TTI provides instructions on how to get them to fit which requires shimming the engine up 3/8" to 1/2" which raises the engine 1/2" to 5/8" higher measured at the crank so now with the engine in its new location which is out of factory spec by the way, we now have new issues crop up with distributor and hood clearence I have spoke to TTI about fixing the problem and there is room to do so and they said to shim the engine up and move the engine back to get proper clearence well all of this jockying around is just the "tail waggin the dog" I am pretty sure they used 73 or newer car for their template, they should adjust the headers so we dont have to reengineer our cars to fit their headers

Please post if you've had similar problems with these headers. Thanks

Ok, what size header are you referring to? I'm assuming small block?

I had that header on my dart, on a 340 and a 318. 67 /6 K frame and shumacher conversion mounts, it cleared no issues.

We had the same set of headers on a 67 dart, 73+ K frame It cleared everything as well.

You either got a bad set, or something is off here.

i have a fabricated trans mount..it makes the rear of the trans sit higher...not sure if that effects things..but mine clear...on my 72..but i may have the 73 center link..not sure...because i do have the 73 disc brakes..i might have gotten the center link when i got the brakes from the junk yard. cant remember..
why cant you just buy a 73 center link..?

I've done six installs on these headers, four on original 67 to 72 V-8 cars they all required shimming 3/8" to 1/2". Shumacher conversion mounts and K-member swaps to 73 K-members isnt what im refuring to, its the original 67 to 76 V-8 cars. Two of the cars I've done are 73's no clearence issues on these cars, the reason is the idler arm and tierod studs faces the opposite direction from the early cars and are completely out of the way

I have them on my 72 demon with no issues as well, original 340 k-member and solid mounts. I didn't shim anything.

I have an original 72 340 Duster with these headers, about 10 ir 12 years old. I never shimmed and the tie rods do graze the headers. I havwn't done anything to correct although we did shim the trans mount to align the u joints 5 years ago. I have always driven it this way with no problems.

There's got to be a few more out there that use these headers, what's been your experience. Thanks again

Well, they fit my 67 just fine with no shimming. Original slant 6 car with a 68-9 V-8 K-frame and idler arm. Maybe I was just lucky?

My 69 Dart with a 340 I had to shim up the motor about 3/8" as well as notch one tube on the right side to clear the tie rod nut or maybe it was the idler arm nut-either way. Heated it and rounded it with a socket. No other issues with clearance like the dist. I also picked up a spare set from a guy that took them off his 72 Dart and he tweaked those a little as well.

416 stroker from Nick at Compu-flow. 11.14 in full street trim. Seems like a new best every time out.
11.06 open headers----so far!!

I have two 1/8" shims on pass side and one shim on drivers side. I enlarged the rear k-frame slot on drivers side to get the engine to slide back. Sliding back that engine gave me tons of steering linkage clearance. No dents and headers fit great. I had to mess with them for a couple days to get them to fit. The factory k-frames are really sloppy so every car is different.
