State of Confusion
I am putting drilled and slotted rotors on my Dakota, and ordered a set of slotted rotors but they are not marked left/right (driver/passenger).

I have heard two different people say two different directions.

A dirt racer friend of mine says they mount the slot // with the point toward the front, another guy said \\ slot points toward the rear...

Does it even matter which direction they go?

?
single choice

if they have cooling fins in the middle you want them to scoop the air...the slots usually go forward as they match the cooling fins. did they have a side denoted on the box?

No, no label of any sort.

The rotor does have internal cooling fins that the holes are drilled into, the slots do not go deep enough to reach the fins.

They should be mounted so that the air is forced thru the slot from the center of the hub to the outside of the disc when rotating in a foreward direction.

So this would go on the passenger side correct?

I wasn,t very clear. You want the internal cooling vanes picking the air up from the center of the hub and forcing the air outward.

So my pictured hub would be drivers side then

The internal vanes determine rotor direction not the outside machined grooves. If the grooves on the outside are facing the same direction as the internal vanes, then that is your left or driver side rotor.

ignore the holes and slots that are machined into the rotor. the vanes inside can be in the same direction, they may not be. they may be straight vanes.

if the vanes in the middle are straight, then the rotors can go on either side.

My SRT Challenger has Brembo brakes with angled slots and the slots point rearward on the left and forward on the right i.e. rotors are interchangeable right/left.
