Make sure the mounts are on the correct side of the block, also the drag link isn't flipped around.
I'm pretty sure the motor mount brackets are on the correct side of the mounts on the block. Should the brackets attach in front of or behind the mounts coming off of the block? Also, I had been wondering if it was possible that the drag link is reversed but I wasn't sure if it would bolt up if it was. Will it fit properly if it is reversed?

How old are the motor mounts? Over time, the rubber will settle/compress/wear out. Same thing for the trans mount, which will tilt the engine/trans assembly down.
The motor mounts are fairly new as is the trans. mount.

I agree DO NOT DING THE HEADERS!! That is a lot of $$$. Call TTI and get thier thoughts. I too thought these were to fit like a glove? One reason for the big $$$.

Well, the problem continues. I had some 1 1/4" solid motor mounts made to get the motor up a little higher. Initially there was still contact with the steering box but after tipping the driver side of the motor up a little on the motor mount pads I have about 3'16 to 1/4" of clearance with the steering box. However, the drag link is still rubbing one of the headers tubes when turning the wheels to the left. It seems like the rear of the motor needs to be lifted. I'm thinking about shimming the trans. mount to see if that solves the problem. The k-frame looks to be a correct 67-72 style frame. I just don't understand what could be behind all of these problems.
Is the car on the ground or suspension hanging?
Mine hit the tubes terribly when the suspension was unloaded, but, when on the ground, no rubbing on steering gear. There are some other issues I had, that's another thread...

Sounds like something isnt "stock" in your motor placement.
I have installed TT1 standard head headers on my 70 Duster, and 1 7/8 w5 headers with no issues with either set.
I use solid "stock style" motor mounts, and a factory tranny mount, and have a manual steering box an zero issues with either set of headers.
sounds like your motor/tranny arent sitting in the factory location.

The car is on the ground.

I considered that but if something isn't stock I don't know what it is. Everything looks as it should as far as I (and a couple of friends) can tell.
