what factor do you guys use to get your ride height on your car.. low in the weeds or low/high????my car as it is right now is about 6" from the bottom of the oil pan and I really like the way it look...I have always like the low race car look.

I always set them low... my car use to be 3.5" to
the lowest part... NHRA says 3" minimum from the front
to 18" behind the front spindle.. then 2" back... my
car was a PITA to load on the trailer when it was that
low so I raised it to 4"

My duster has always sat low up front, the rear was lowered and tucked a 275/60 really nicely but the car just plain old didn't work so up the rear end went and I haven't looked back yet.

looked for some pic's (no luck) from over the years as things changed and how it progressively got closer to the ground, started out with the old stink bug stance but more level and lower now,, and looks much better that way.

I had my Duster as low as I could get the coil overs shocks set on the rear end brackest, put taller slicks on it and had to raise the back up to clear those tires, I ended up doing the ride hieght change with the car on the scales, absolutely no changes on the front to rear weight distrubution, absolutely no change I did see a change in the 60 fts and reaction times but I'm sure that was do to the tire size and rear gear ratio changes do to the 6 inch more circumference, not the ride hieght change Set it so YOU like it

The more power you have the lower you can go, given big tires and good suspension. Shocking the tires with a transbrake helps get a low fast car up on the tires if the weight distribution is nose heavy. I have 53 percent on the front now and with a bit more rpm on launch, works great.

With Big engines & lots of speed the lower cars handle better.

I like them to have a small rake/stance. Kinda low in the front with a little rise in the rear. Gives it a mean look.

Well we have one of both...Low and not so low. Both have been near 170 and handle just fine. ALthough we will be addressing the ride height on the small tire car before it comes back out next year.

I just set mine to the ride height I like which is about how it normally sits. Maybe the front is a tad lower. I just dont think some cars look good sitting to low. Like my 63 as I like the look from the 60's and 70's and I dont think it would look good sitting real low or slammed down. Ron

This is my brothers Cuda. I like the car of course but I dont care for the look with it sitting this low. I think it would better sitting like a SS/AH car with the Hemi scoop. But thats just my taste. Ron

My dart feels good at this height, It has a dragster chassis pan on it. About 4 inches from the ground. My new car, I will have home by the end of January, and it sets a lot lower, but it was a deal I couldn't turn down for the price.

All you real low a-bodies-

I have crappy hooker comps on my car for now, which limits me bigtime on ride height. Are y'all just running TTIs or am I seeing a lot of cars with custom engine setback, trans/driveshaft tunnels, floors relieved for exhaust, tubs and coilovers and short rears, etc. etc.?

I love the modern tucked in back tire low and mean stance (maybe not as radical as some all out racers) but it seems the stock demon would put up a fight. I am not afraid to cut a car up, but not this one!

Thanks

I have custom headers but stock floors and k member and front suspension. My headers are 2in and the lowest part is my oil pan. Well really I built a bar off my k frame to save that and the is the lowest part. If you have a setup that takes tti's I would just use them. I see no need to cut up your car to get it that low.

Low, relatively speaking for a b-body.
