That rig has ex-Pro Stocker written all over it. And I meant that as a figure of speech, not for the fact that "PRO" is written on the windshield.

I really dig the Keystones. Anyone know this car's history ? Just curious.
"Kahl Custom"---- Back around 1974-'75 there was a guy naamed Henry Kahl, I think the spelling was the same, that worked in Elmont N.Y. for a place called "Corvette City" . He & another guy built cars & did airbrush work for us locals. Henry had a SW that was done by "Greg of Akron", the painter of Bobby Yowell's cars. When I lived back there, his car was sponsored by "Dr. Pepper" the soda co. & IIRC, had a destroked 396 Hemi & 4-spd. The car was real nice but had a much simpler paint scheme. My guess is if it's the same guy he re-did or had Greg re-do his car after I moved from the area. The clues that tell me this is the front license plate (same as when I saw the car, the spelling & the Dr. Pepper decal placement was the same as was the scoop.
Is the car still around?

If that's the case I'd love to at least see a pic of the 'ol gal. Btw, just how correct WAS my memories?
The car I have is an early Pro/Stock style build and was aquired from Neil Lewis quite a few years ago.It was purchased by him in northern Ohio and was raced in Ohio,New York and Pa in the 70s.When I got the car Neil had the paint stripped and it was primered. The paint was white and black with the "Thundering Hemi"monicker. There were plexiglass windows with 1286#s in the car and Neil said he was told that Phil Roaring had may have driven this car also.I have never been able to document this car.It does have the hoop style roll cage,4link and R&P steering. I'am will try and contact Neil to see if he can provide any additional information.

Thanks ! The B&W paint IS what I remember along with some sort of red trim. If I'm correct & Henry is still alive, he'd be somewhere in his mid-to-late 70s now. I don't know if Henry built the car himself or whatbut I remember being impressed as it was only the second Hemi/A-body I ever saw....
Been thinking about this car all night.... If it's the one I'm thinking of, the car had "7-UP" or " Bubble-Up", both soft drinks on the door, IIRC........

THAT is freakin' awesome. I love racecars from that era. The paint jobs, the wheels, the stance... Love it all! Must have been a great time to be into these cars.

Looks sorta like the car Bobby Yowell used to drive in Pro Stock.
Back in the days when there was still some "stock" in Pro Stock
