I have seen several guys go from race gas to an injected alky( methenol) setup like a flying toilet and pickup 2 tenths or better and a good bit more torque. Snappier throttle response and better 60 foot are likely benefits as well.

Ron's & James Monroe can both set you up with one of their injectors & have the tune up almost dead perfect. Its a must have for Bracket Racing or any other class where you have round robin racing,if nothing else but for the cooling effect. We have been getting some new engines and much to my surprise because everyone picks up with alcohol,on the Dyno the engines make a little more peak horse-power with the race fuel. But the engines makes enough more torque on alcohol to make up the hp different and then some. On 100 degree days down here in Dixie I make a run and if I don't have to go straight back to the staging lanes, kill the engine cutoff both water pump & fan.No cooling problems is the #1 reason for running alcohol & the added power is just a +.

Alcholol is a big pain to use, milking of the oil, hard staring when cold, stinks without additive and so on, the benifits are if you have to run race gas the alcholol setup will make the motor run cooler. One bad thing about alcholol is when there is a fire most people don't see the flames so there slow reacting to the fire I dyno tested one of my motors, 11.7 to 1 comp. ratio on race gas and then on the local E85, it tested out to be E90 and the motor made one more HP and no more torque on the mix More better make a pump gas motor and run it
about the only thing I agree with there is the last sentance...
alky all the way for me. the added maintenance is a myth unless your a complete moron. Two factors that would push me towards gas, racing in colder climates, using lots of NOS. Most bracket motors do great on alky. When you get well over 600ci they seem to like gas better.
