I thinking about buying some Durgloss Lens polish for my truck headlight cover. Have anyone ever try lens polish before? Permtex has a kit with sandpaper how good is that one?

you can use regular rubbing compound and get the same results. You can even use a buffer or get 3 inch pad from your local paint store.

I was thinking the same thing, I almost fell off my chair laughing!!!!

Len's Polish? hahaha

I don't know why that is so funny...

Anyways, I have used the sand paper method (wet sand with 220, then 300, then 400 and then polish with any type of compound. The mag wheel polish works well. You can even try Bomani. It is a soft type of abrasive found at the supermarket next to the Comet.

Read my review HERE.

How often do you plan on polishing plastic lenses? This was a big factor for me buying the Permatex kit.

I've used Meguiar's clear plastic polish on gauge clusters before that were lightly scratched with pretty solid results.

I purchased Eastwoods plastic polish and their string buffer wheel.. Makes plastic look new again.

3M also makes a plastic polish compound, available at most auto paint/supply shops.
It won't "revive the dead", but does a heck of a job on weathered lenses. Easy to use and will not harm your 30-40 year plastic.

My rating: out of dancing bannanas

Death or Glory...it's just another story.

Yes, it worked well for me. It's like a paste with some gritty stuff in it to help. I'm not sure who sells it now, I've had mine for so long and haven't run out yet. Got a decent sample tube in the mail.
