Pettis hooked me up w/a standard moly top, napier second and medium oil ring pack plus he back-cut the top n second rings............so far so good.

Might be worth it to see if they can back cut em then use their spacer material and you`re good to go.

Why would you do that ?

You wouldnt and there would be no benefit.
Don't make it harder than it is.

Jason Pettis recommended it and so far so good on oil controll and this motor is WAY easier to turn over than any others prior. Jason knows his stuff and I`ll leave it there............

hi, because it's worth more horsepower!! less friction on bores. motor rolls easier. thats why stockers and super stockers go so fast.

Well if I was running a stocker that would be cool. But I am not ..this is a old trick been around for many years. takes tension out of the rings and they do not last as long. Not something I want to take chance on in a bracket motor. I have seen many of them break also.

Mine`s a street car that I race..........My plugs look great and it hauls azz plus you`d be surprised how many production cars practice this "un-needed" trick.

hi, actually, they last longer, detroit went to low tension, metric rings few years ago , found more power, more fuel milage, less wear in bores. they make low tension rings for most engines. I've ran over 4 years on metric , low tension rings. over 400 runs. and they didn't break!!!!
