The car im building is a 64 426/ A833 Coronet. It was in a 65 B Body but trunnion plate is larger than the trunnion that was on my 727 / small block set up the car came with. So my Drive shaft will not work. How hard is it to find the larger trunnion drive shaft or is there a bolt on adapter to use a smaller unit. Or for that matter a slip yoke? Im hoping a trans tail shaft change is not in the future.

That is pretty neat piece! Was it incredibly costly? Is there any problem with the larger trunnion plate? I was asked if it was from a truck but it was not. It was a BB though.

When I converted my '65 to a 4 speed, I used a '70 trans. Simple matter of modifying the crossmember to use later model trans mount and changing the speedo cable. The stock (slip joint) 727 shaft fit perfectly. When you figure the cost of an early "B" 833 crossmember and mount and the cost of a shaft, a later trans may be more economical, too.

Two differten bodys. My 65 when you drop the trans support there is nothing in the way.Trans drops right out.Ive thought about changing it to slip yoke but my 45 year old B&T is still as good as new.Ive broken rear joints but never a front B&T.Rocky
