I'm starting resto on an original 70 Swinger, 340 4spd car. I'd like to run hard on occasion and was wondering if my solid lifter setup from a 273 I had lying around would be beneficial to performance. I'm no mechanic so : what would the advantage/disadvantages be ?

If your talking about swapping the cam and lifters, pushrods and rocker asembly yje 340 cam is alot better for the 340, don't swap the 273 cam into the 340 If your talking about using the rocker arms and shafts and buying a set of proper fitting pushrods for your current cam it may help a tiny bit if the motor runs okay now If your installing a bigger cam than stock then the adjustable rocker assembly from the 273 is definetly worth having

Yes - guess I should have added that I would be picking a cam and correct pushrods for the combo. I had also read somewhere that I could have the 273 rockers "upgraded" by a company in CA (sorry, don't recall the details as it's been a few years).

This is the "upgrade" I was referring too, wouldn't have asked had I found this earlier :

What's up with the "?????" ? , total confusion ?

Kinda wanted some feedback regarding advantages of the setup as I'm no mechanic and have not driven a solid lifter car so ............ just know I don't plan on avoiding the redline (show AND go).
