The last run of B-1 PSO castings we did were about 60-70 CFM better on our flow bench, Taller valve spring height for more cam lift and more runner volume. The casting is the same outside as a B-1 orginal and intake bolt pattern is the same but does have a rasied port on ours.

The PSO heads should be worth considerable hp, based on a lot more flow plus the port cross section area to feed the motor. If they flow 60 to 70 cfm more than the 572 heads, then my guess is they would gain a minimum of 120 to 150 hp over the 572s if you put the right parts in the motor to support the heads. I was told by a pretty sharp guy (ported my heads) that a good head should be able to make close to 2.45 hp per cfm of flow. So if those PSOs flow 470, they should be able to produce 1150 hp if the motor is built right. BestMachine Can you post some info on thier potential?

I think the OP is looking for a physical height difference between the two due to limited space.

Would it help if I did this on my B1 originals for you? I just got back from the track an hour ago, and unloaded my car, It is in the shop now. Not sure if it is the same as the PSO

Curious about this too, also interested to see if the exhaust manifold bolt pattern is the same or near.

me to. I just need to go buy a lottery ticket. If the wrong guy gets in, my social security might go south, and I won't be able to run it!

I talked with Koffles a couple of months ago about PSO heads.
Scott said $2600 for castings but Brodix won't cast until they have 5 sets. Scott also said the MC will flow within 20 cfm of PSO heads and use more standard valve train.

Is Koffels the only one that can get these heads? I know best machine is not able to get them. Somewhere around spring time I would like to get a set of the pso or maybe the mc heads.

The PSO starts its life as the same casting as all other B1 Original Heads do. They are very raw castings but the outside dimensions are the exact same as the b1 originals

The castings are all bought from Koffel regardless of who is selling them

My block was milled .011 and my b1's milled .100, but I will go measure from the tray to the top of the intake for you. I will be out in my shop in a few minutes

From the TOP of my B1 valley tray to the top of the intake is close to 9 5/16 The valley plate is around 180 thou thick, then, my heads are milled to 65cc which was another 100 thou, and the block milled 11 thou. Also my head gaskets are 40 thou. you may be best to base your figure at 9.750 to be close. Mine is around 9.644, i'm useing 2 sets of b1 intake gaskets at .030 a thick for the spacers on the rb block.
