State of Confusion
So, in my newly aquired 92 Dak, I have no blower motor function. No high, no lower speeds.

I was told the most likely culprit is the blower resistor. BUT... in my web searching on this topic, it seems that I should still have the High fan speed (which is the only one I ever use anyway).

So, can the resistor be bad, and cause a no High fan speed situation, or is it going to me the more difficult to access motor?

I still have to check the fuse, might be the simplest fix, but haven't yet found the fuse panel. I'm going to assume it will be under the steering column much the same as my W series 93 truck.

The next question, is there any chance the Dak blower motor will interchange with one from a D or W series? I have a few of those on hand.

I spent 4.5 hours cleaning the interior of the truck and just didn't have the motivation to search for the glovebox. Those trucks look like they have a lot of room, but they are much smaller once you squeeze in there.

Pull the blower motor and check it out by putting 12V DC directly to it. If bad, new ones are available for < $30...

Just my $0.02...

I would rather not disassemble the lower dash assembly if at all possible. I cant get there to do the work since i cant get down to lower areas.

If it was a simple to get to fan, like a D-W series truck, it would be no issue.

First thing check the fuse.I cant remember if that has the small switch for fan or not.If it does they are known for burning up.If the fuse is good turn on the fan and check power to the resistor. Its not very common for no fan at all.If resistro has power in and power to the motor its either a bad motor or bad ground.Rocky

I had the exact same problem on my '96 Dak. Check out this pic, yours is probably the same or at least pretty close. See the connector with the hole in it? Somehow it got hot, melted the plastic, and it ended up insulating that lug.
I just pulled the harness, scraped all the connectors both male and female, hooked it back up, and voila! Instant blower motor.
Hope this helps.

That is the blower resistor in the pic that the plug snaps onto. 2 screws and the resistor is out of the firewall for you to visual inspect and check with an ohm meter. You can usually see the burned off coils. You can also jumper the plug and see if the blower works then.
