I went and ran the car today and went a 10.57 for a best and a hand full of 10.60's.
The problem is last week I run,but only 1/8 mile, and ran better times then I ran today.and today I had new slicks on and it was about 10 degrees cooler.
I was hoping for 10.40's or 30's. I changed the lash and ran some colder plugs. I loosened the lash up. Do you think this could of caused it to run slower, only loosened it up .003
Still happy but just kicking around ideas.

Was it the same track? Some tracks are faster than others(up/down hill, clocks)

Was the air really better or was it just a little cooler? Barometric pres., humidity make a big difference

Congrats on the new best

HI Eddie
Congrats on the new best, i was wondering yesterday if you'd ran the car since the head upgrade.
How did your 60fts compare to last time out. I wouldn't have thought that amount would make much diffence, unless you had the lash way too tight.
I run my .590 at .022 all round cold lash.
Did you do a plug check or try jetting the car up for the cooler air.
Post the incrementals of one of your tickets up.
Mick

Thanks guys,I got looking at my old timeslips and I have run the same 60 fts for the last 2 years low to mid 1.5's I think this is where my problem is. I don't think you should run the same 60 ft times when you run 11.0's to 10.5's.
I even have different convertors went from 10 in 3800 to 8in 5000 and no change. Need to figure it out.

I've seen this happen to freinds in the past, they made changes to the car and motor and didn't pick up the 1/4 ET and MPH, ended up they where running out of fuel in the last two to three hunded feet. No missing or any other indication that it was running out of fuel other than not pulling hard the last part of the track It has happen to me in so many ways(pump size, fuel line size, needle and seat size. fuel element to fine and the list goes on ) it makes me want Try jetting the carb. up 2 or 3 jet sizes and see if that helps or hurts the ET and MPH, if it doesn't change either the ET or MPH fix the fuel delivery problem, or problems Let us know what you find out
