Roller or flat tappet, and what do you not like about them?

Have them, love them, and wouldn't hesitate to turn them to 7500rpm.... The are very nice quality and I have never heard of a problem with them... Mind you my cams have been small compared to others here, but I wouldn't change them even if I had crazy solid roller setup going on

I've been running them on my small block for 8 or 9 years. At first with Hughes 1111 springs and now with Comp 930 springs.....I think. I had to grind the pi$$ out of them to clear the Comp spring because of the installed height and diameter. They've been ran for three years like this with no issues .

Don,
Take this for what it is, but may be worth reading. I know they are not going to to put things on their site that doesn't make them look good. I'm going to run the offset rockers on my current build but they are not treated.

You too? I just called them earlier in the week and I was a little put off by the attitude to say the least.

Thanks Rod
Yeah I had read that a while back, regards the treating.
I know these particular rockers are different than the I believe it was Probe stuff they used to carry or maybe still do.
Just looking at what options are out there for roller cams on stock style heads that don't require clearancing and can hold up to probably 550-600 spring pressures
The HS stuff doesn't impress me and requires being whittled on to run 1.55 springs from what I have heard.

Yes I have ran them. 410 SB, 4spd. Revved it up all day to 7200RPM. They work well. This was with as Solid Flat Tappet though, 262@50 w/.624 Lift. They held the valve adjustment very well, hardly ever needed to adjust them and if so only a few exhaust valves. Was using Manton Ball Cup push Rods, oil thru on LA Heads. Pressureized oil on the ball and cup. Was also running Johnson Oil through EMD Lifters. FWIW

Really!? I have NEVER heard that before...

Hughes and Indy. Where customer service is #1,356. Right on the priority list after cleaning the toilets.

FWIW I purchased the SB offset rockers as kind of an experiment so we could open up the pushrod pinch to slow air speed and gain a little port volume. I don't know of any SBM rockers for a factory type head that isn't going to require some clearancing for that size spring.

I have not run them on anything yet,but would not hesitate to do so.
I looked them over at the M.M.race in Indy. I like the way they oil, better than many others I've seen. Plus the roller trunions on other brands require cutting too much meat out of them, all to put roller bearings on a part that just pivots and does not rotate.
Unless I was stepping up to T&D or something, they look pretty decent. Hughes makes their own now as opposed to out sourcing like years past.

I have such a hard time understanding how you guys have gotten poor customer service. I have used him a couple times and service wa awesome. A friend just ordered a cam kit, gave the wrong information and they shipped the correct one right away?
I called six different places about camshafts recently. Dave Hughes was the absolute best at asking the right questions and giving a good recommendation. Some of the other companies I called really just did not want to take the time to get things right. Some were good, some were not,but Dave was the best.
