I tried to get out, pulled the handle, nothing, feels like its doing something, but nothing, I rolled the window down, pushed the outside button in, still nothing, move the lock up and down, makes no difference. The door is shut and just wont open. Has always worked fine. Today nothing.
Anyone have any pointers of what I need to look at here, and if the latch is fubar, does a 4 door latch work on a two door?

It should be obvious once you look at it.
Taking the door panel off will be the hardest part.

Probably a plastic clip on the end of the linkage got brittle and broke off. I've never had the misfortune of neither inside or outside working. Latch itself is pretty durable, but they can get gummed up with stiff old grease. Some parts will be the same as 4 door, some won't.

Very likely. when you take off the panel & get in there as said you'll see what came apart. Should be an easy fix once you get in there

are your door hinges worn bad?? If the door is sagging, you may have to lift up on the door handle if the door is stuck on the striker.

Hinges are good, turned out to be just old dry grease that wouldnt allow the door lock mechanism to slide back and forth. Cleaned it all up, relubed and put it all back together tonight, works great. I also found the little screw that holds the outside push button together had worked loose, and allowed some extra slop, now I just tap the button and the door opens with ease. Also the button doesnt get stuck in any more. It was all metal clips and with the use of an old mirror, I was able to get it all apart and put back together. Luckily I got it all tore apart and back together again before the sun went down.
