Finally got around to freshening the trans in my cuda. what is the best choice in bushing material for the front pump bushing? and why?
It's only a 12 second car that doesn't see any street use anymore.
Where is a good place to get auto trans parts?

Babbit is the only way to go--it will not damage the hub metal like the bronze factory style can--it also conforms to smallamounts of- out of round, off center etc present in almost all aftermarket converters--the hubs used in aftermarket units seems softer than factory to me--Bronze ( tough, hard) equals trouble--always , always go with babbit on pump bushing IMO and experience

I know all the race converter company's want you to use babbit which is fine and if they call for it I will use 1 just in case there is a warranty issue, but I have installed literally hundreds of the factory bronze one's with great success.
I have been into units I did that had 100k on them and the hub still look good.

Depends on the material, if it's CM I use the factory bronze, if not use the babbit.

Most of the converters I have bought over the years usually come with a babbit bushing in the box. So I just install the babbit bushing and use it. Ron
