71redcuda OP pro stock Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 1,551 Sweden	They are installed near the front of the leaf springs on each side of the car. I do not understand where these shields should be mounted? C_B5 super stock C Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 1,070 Ohio	Just an FYI - the 70 models use a strap with a slightly different design than the 71-74 models. The later style will bolt up and fit but it is something to know if looking to find a set of originals.

C_B5 super stock C Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 1,070 Ohio	Here is photo of the later style fuel / brake shield Note the extra step in the metal strap opposite the bolt hole. When installed this design allows the shield to fit better over the lower pinchweld area. I do not know exactly when the switch over occurred. However in my experience the shield without the step was used on 1970 cars and also some 1971 models. Compare it to the other photo in my previous post and the difference can be clearly seen. The examples of the parts that I have provided are both factory originals not reproductions.
