anyway I wasonly asking if anyone had run into the cheetah shifter and buchellon kick down brackets using the same mounting holes and causing interference

Just refer to your instruction sheet under trans cable installation.It explains what to do to to make it work.You just have to enlarge the hole in their bracket to 1/2in. dia.Good luck!!

yeah the instructions do cover basic install. But the bracket actually interferes with the cable itself. You can force the fit but I am going to do a simple mod to bracket for better fitment. I will post the pics soon. Thanks

I also have a Cheetah shifter, I also would like to use a Buchellon kickdown cable. Mine is on a '38 Plymouth with an a518 transmission. I thought that there could be a problem hooking up both cables at the same mounting location. It would be great to see some pictures of how you made this work.

Pentastar, It was really so simple that I figured pictures wouldnt be needed.

I'll explain: the brackets do use the same mounting boss, as was stated earlier in the post you must drill out the Buchellon bracket to 1/2" dia. hole. The other thing that must be done for an easy non binding fit is to just grind/ file a 1/2" radius into the buchellon bracket at the level of the cables metal sheath.

Here is the bracket unmodified you can see that the cables sheath will not let it aline square to the linkage



here is the simple fix 1/2" radius out of the side of the bracket

Buy Lokar and be done of it.

that sucks.. my lokar cable worked perfect together with the turbo action shifter.

Buchellon not think anyone would use a good shifter with their kickdown kit??
