no different than a std. 440 block so don't let the seller FOOL you , but I would ask the type of cooling system it had , heat exchanger or RAW WATER , if raw water and it's been in SALT WATER ...

RUN FOREST RUN

I don't know the current going rate... but $500 sounds like a lot for a 440 block.

it is a running long block. i said 500 for me may not be a good thing cause i split a stock 73 block and will end up throwing everything away but the block and caps. i got the sholder shrug so this will not be for me. just wondering if there is any strength differences. it is a forged crank though.

All the ones I've seen were just production blocks...
different boat companies use to buy a quantity at
a time from what ever auto company would sell them
the cheapest price.... and some would change brands
during the season build... my boat(Searay) has a ford
but most were chevy

I know you're after the block but if it is RH rotation the crank knurling at the rear seal is not gonna work for you.

If you split a stock block it's probably time to just pony up for a REAL block and be done wit hit . Contact Keoleno for a good lock deck block.
