The newest issue of Car Craft (oct - 2012) has a cool article on mixing and matching parts from junkyard 8 3/4s, taking the best from all pigs and combining them into one to get thick tapered pinion, sure grip and 3.91 gears. They did it for less than $400.00.

Wasn't trying to be a butt. I thought this might be a good alternative to build in your spare time, without any down time to your car until it was ready. Good Luck.

powertrax can be iffy in quality, i know some have had good experiences with them and others have not. I did not have a good experience with them. My dakota slipped one of the their locking rings in the housings so that it would not anymore. That was before my 408 and no nitrous on the truck at the time. I have asked richmond several times what is the maximum horse power and torque these units could take and they would not answer. My truck at the time was making 300 rwhp and about 400 ft lbs torque..
