Based on member Kowal's GTX pictures, I want to use +1 inch lift leaf springs for 68 RR. I can't decide between Eaton or ESPO. ESPO costs less. Are they US-made? Can I go wrong with ESPO? Thanks. Kowal's GTX below with Eaton +1. Looks sharp. My RR is such a wreck compated to this GTX, but it's the only one I will ever have, so I could go either way, Eaton or ESPO, whichever would work out best. If they are samesies, would go with ESPO, spend the difference on gas, and go for a ride with my cuzzin.

Okay leaning towards Eaton right now. Will donate plasma for gas. :P Believe my F150 has leaf springs made in Mexico and they're good, but that's not a Roadrunner. Need to think on it some more.

I put ESPO springs on my 57 Plymouth. No complaints with fit or function.

Maybe I should start a separate thread for this, but, I'm curious as to how many ESPO (or even Eaton) users have had their springs for 10 yrs or more. I've got a pair of ESPO 1" over on my wagon. When the spring were first installed back in '99, with a full tank of gas, a full sized spare, and a small tool box, the wagon would sit pretty much level. Now, 12+ yrs later, it still sits pretty much level, but, now it does only with no weight in the back. Not really a complaint, I did actually USE my wagon as a wagon for awhile there. Even at current height, they're still w-a-y better than the stockers I pulled off. Just an observation I've wondered about.

I was going to buy Eaton for my restoration project, but I have heard the quality has gone down a lot since Eaton sold that division. I don't know who owns them now. I was told by some Eaton friends they sold the division over 10 years ago.
So I went with Espo. They showed up last week. Not too impressed with the general fit and finish. Both bottom leafs have major grind marks. I will be calling them tomorrow to discuss.

After much indecision I called up ESPO and ordered 6-leaf HD +1 over. You can choose 5 or 6-leaf there, and I was like "Um, I don't know. Six." My RR is such a beater and I need to get moving, and that was one email, one phone call and everything is on the way. If I don't like the ESPOs I will just work on the vintage ones. We will see what happens.

Update for anyone who searches and comes across this thread. Stuff from ESPO showed up 8/9, exactly one week after calling them.
These are not museum quality springs but all appears to be serviceable. They are painted gloss black. Originals as I remember tham are not painted at all. I don't care about that for this car. I like the hardware I asked them to send; u-bolts, spring eye bolts, & shackles; not exact reproduction of original pieces but it all looks good.
I notice individual leaves are not as thick as original. I don't know if that's because I used 6 instead of 5 leaf. When installed they do actually add about 1 inch of height over stock, and that's what I wanted. I like it and hope they hold up. Lots of work I don't want to do again for a while.
