My brother just bought a 77 w150 (318/727/203). He had problems with the carburator, so after a rebuild we thought it would be ready. Someone left the key on overnight, and drained the battery( no biggie), after a 8 hr charge, we still had no power at all! No dash lights, headlights, dome lights or anything. We changed the starter relay, that looked pretty nasty, but still have no power. Any suggetions would be appreciated thanks.

Only thing I can think It would be is a main fuse or fuseable link? Not sure exactly were it would be on the truck?

probably between the starter relay and the bulkhead but leaving the key on would not fry it. I'd start checking/cleaning terminals from the batt positive post toward the bulkhead then inside if needed to find the open

Ammeter is a thing to check also. Bypass is a good idea.

All the recomendations sound good.
Being all power is suddenly lost, I would look at the fusable link first. It comes out of the firewall with all the other wires, then goes through another conector, to the starter slolenoid.

I can screw up anything.

Check the ground from the battery to the body

Fuse link would be my bet. Next bulk head connector. If not, check the plug on the ignition switch. They melt a lot of times.

Got it running, it was a hot wire coming off the relay. One of the previous owners tried to do a repair or add something and made a poor connection. thanks for the input everybody.
