There's 2 different versions of the "245" port. a Std 245, & a Raised Port 245.... the RP head is identical in every way except they take about .250" out of the roof of the port. I would'nt use the RP on a 408, unless it was a methanol engine. Both are designed to be ran with 2.14 or 2.15 valves. The RP port can only be put into newer raised valve cover rail castings. I posted Dyno #'s off a 245 non RP head motor that was hampered by a 2.1 valve (was forced into running this) about a month ago. Those were out of box untouched heads except a VJ. There is more flow to be found with a little hand work, but you can make substantial power with their OOB ports. I've now gotten to see several sets of ICH CNC heads off of running engines & the chamber burn pattern is exceptional on them. Many complain about how BIG the CNC chamber is, but I'll take killer burn every time over a head with smaller less efficient chamber.

It's funny I just had another new set of 245RP's come in the door UPS in between these posts....
Port entrance is 1.375" W X 2.40" Tall.... that's a big b....
369W7's set have been modified port wise, so I think I'll throw a valve in these new virgin RP's & CC a runner to see what they really are out of box. I know it's bigger than 245.
any difrence?????

Guess they're not bigger than 245 stock....
the RP245 I just measured with 2.15 Ferrea Comp Plus valve 245.5 CC...
The std port height "245" head must be smaller than 245.
I've only had 2 sets of those here & never measured them volume wise.
So which ones should I go with. The motor is a 408 now but I may go larger down the road. Im looking for max power. I run this car in a stock suspension 28 x10.5 tire class and run 2 kits (400 hp total) Can they be ordered with the bigger valves? Im running a 4.035 bore now, just wondering if bigger valves will fit. The pistons are custom Ross domes. Im ordering just the assembled heads, I already have T&D rockers on the heads I have now and my friend thats buying my heads already has the Indy rockers to go on them. Im looking for max power. My motor makes peak power now at 7600 rpm's. Made 530 rwhp through a Dana 60 and ran 6.30's @ 107 through a glide in a 3200 lb car with driver. My mustang that the motor is in now runs 6.40's @ 109 in the heat of Summer with only a 3.73 gear and a tight converter. Its 2940 with driver. 369's Modified set are 254 CC.

Ryan, do you sell gaskets that will work?
Nobody makes a gasket that fits....
INDY won't make one, I asked Russ at Carlisle & he said not enough demand.
So gotta buy blank Fel Pro material & get out razor blade & make your own.

Im just wondering if there will be enough of a power difference between the regular 245cc cnc heads and the raised port ones to make it worth the extra trouble on my combo?
What about trying to get in there some other type of intake? mybee some w8 or w9 MP intake or perhaps going to a chevy intake, i know i few guys are using the w8 intake on GM motors!! ryan?
