With the way the stock hood overhangs and how high the cars sit probably your not much. I am going to put a lower air dam on mine as i think that might do something

I have a 69 dart that goes 138-139 plus. I am wanting to block the grill off with some plexiglas for a hopeful et, mph improvement. Does anyone that has a 67-69 dart have any real world experience with this around my speeds?? Thanks
It would be very easy to answer that for yourself, just cut you a cardboard template to cover the entire grille, make a pass without it and then duct tape the template in place for one run and you'll have your answer.

Cardboard is not strong enough. Use something that won't give. I bought a hemi dart from a guy in 1977. He ran SS and M/P with it. When he ran MP he had a clear piece of plexiglass behind the grill.

no changes to the motor, i went from 139 mph max trap to 142 mph from removing the 6 pak n grille & installing a cowl n flat panel. before... after.... ET went from 9.57 best to 9.42 best. run lots of 9.4's last season, the season before was a lot of low 9.6's

Cardboard taped to the front of the grille will work absolutely fine, wheres it gonna go, its gotta grille behind it? Done it many a time on diff cars and 68 & 69 grilles are the best cuz they are so flat. He only needs one run WITH the cardboard on it.
