Cuda340 OP top fuel Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 2,368 Wheatfield, NY	I came across a hemi block casting number 2468330-M, with a casting date of 5A26. It had a H 474 on the front pad, no VIN on the lower pad. and I noticed a "P" and a "T" stamped near the upper pad but not on it can anyone give me more info on the block year? What the casting numbers mean? Any other info? Possible WIW (I know wrong section)....

When Chrysler started making the blocks again (had to build new molds and everything) they put the letter "M" behind the casting number to identify the blocks as MP and not a block from back in the day. Someone else will be able to give you more details on this particular block. R.

These are no longer in production since World products began casting blocks for Mopar.

Maybe it's a cached file and doesn't reflect reality, but take a look and see for yorself. http://chucker54.stores.yahoo.net/426hebabl2.html I seem to remember some casting quality issues with the pre-World blocks, that's why they switched. If it weighs 325# it's a World block. Someone else will tell you more. R.
