I'm just a little bored sitting here at work with nothing to do.
I started thinking what else could I do to my car that
#1. is easy
#2. is cheap
#3. has proven benefits
#4. is fun (love tinkering)

So guys what have you done to your car that was cheap, easy to do and you see or feel benefits from?

Home made ingenuity, store bought, what ever it may be lets hear about it. And if its home made pics are encouraged!

Removed weight, it was cheap most of the time, some of it was easy and lighter cars are easier to make fast.

Going from a 26.5 to a 29 inch front tyre. We could loosen off the torsion bars (lower the front of the car), get the same ride height, have more upwards travel and make the Caltracs work.
Started clearing the 60ft beams with the fronts after that

Just think what it would gain if you drained it all out!

I traded a 750 vac straight across for a 750 DP, added a 20$ one inch spacer, went two tenths quicker.

hummm maybe the meth/H20 injection ($280). Lets me run 93 at 11.2:1 with no issues. If you are talking low budget bang 4 the buck headers, intake and a holley 750DP are about the best things you can do to a stockish BB.

Home made frame connectors. Feels way tighter, lost a bunch of squeaks and rattles. Cheap.

me too, $20 worth of 2x3. Another cheap thing i like to do whenever i rebuild a carb is to use the small button head screws to hold the butterflies to the shafts.I get them for almost free from the guy i buy my kits from. Make sure you Locktite them in. I also like to chop the choke tower off. I can't verify the benefits though. Also bowl port my own heads and recurve my own distributors. I can't say how much i gain from any of this, but it sure is cheap to do.

I remember working on collector length and picking up, but don't remember how much. The cheap mods are the most satisfying for me.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

nothings cheap on my junk but value for money, i'd say the Vac pump install was well worth the money. we're running .1 faster on average. prior to last season we had only done 9.4 once, on a good day, last season we did more 9.4's than 9.5's.

I got a leaf added to my saggy XHD rear leaf springs. Insatalled height is good and it drives much better. $140 at my local spring shop.
