Hey guys, Im looking for pictures of the correct throttle bracket, return spring bracket and kick down linkage for a 73-340 or any thermoquad equipped 340. The stuff I have puts the kick down linkage at a weird angle and binds up under full throttle.

I doubt these will be of much help but it's all I have. The 73's used a return spring bracket on the second intake bolt.(I think 340's and 318's were the same in that reguard) In 74, the bracket was changed and used two of the intake bolts.

The 73 parts book shows two 340 setups, one for A body and one for the rest. Here they are.

I haven't been able to find concrete evidence as to which bracket was used on the post 71 small blocks.
So bear with me here as I am relying on the manufacturer.
BUT, IMO it comes down to what style of kickdown linkages are being used.

OR

Same thing on the return spring bracket.

( I personally think this is 2 barrel only,and MAYBE 1974 360 4 barrel)

Heres a few pictures I got on fabo. 73 Dart Sport 340. Im working on a 73 Duster, converting the 318 from 2bbl to 4bbl using a 73 TQ intake and 73 TQ carb. Looks like I have the correct bracket but the upper linkage I have is incorrect. Not sure about the lower linkage. Im thinking it may be the same 2bbl/4bbl

I just switched from a 318 2 barrel to 340 thermoquad and the 318 linkage was the same. I will try to post a few pics tonight.

My 73 318 used the single bolt throttle return spring bracket. I thought the two bolt brackets were 74 only.

You must be working on an A-body with the two piece kickdown linkage. E-bodies used a single piece linkage.(E-body 340 linkage had a yellow paint mark on the carb end as seen in my picture above)

Thats totally different then the A body stuff. I'll snap the pictures of what I have today.

Just to clarify, the throttle linkage from the 318 was the same. The kickdown linkage was different on my swap.
