Strange will sell me a custom length 30 spline set of "race" axles with bearings and 3" studs for 470 bucks,

Moser will sell me a se of 30 spline custom alloy axles for 370 bucks no studs, or bearings,

Whos is better, any plus or minus remarks appreciated.

kasey

Moser for street strip , Strange for race only.
That being said , I ran 35 spline Strange axles on the street for a long time with no problems.
The difference is in the alloy and heat treat as I understand it.
Moser is a better choice for side loading and street type impact loading. More malleable or less brittle depending on how you look at it , but I don't know what kind of hammering you'd need to fracture a Strange axle. I have 30 spline Mosers in my deal now and I am perfectly happy with them.

Both are similar "race" application axles you just get a better deal buying the strange set up with bearings and studs.

Then Moser has changed their manufacturing or added another line.
Strange axles ( the race axles ) are through hardened.
Mosers have a case hardening , or did anyway.
Much like production axles , but with better steel.
And that made them the better choice for dual use..........that is my understanding of the way the land lays , but I bought my Mosers six years ago so things may have changed.

Did you contact Doc Diff, and see what his prices were? Either choice you make on the 2 you asked about will work good for your app. . I have ran both types on the street and hard on the track with a heavy e body. Doc also sent me a set 358 delivered, but I never used them on the street.

I wonder'ed that myself, but figured it was an easy install without having to pull it completely down. Enough for his combo

Agreed, probably what the carrier is set up for already. If the unit needs rebuilt though now is the time to change to 35 before axles are purchased.

Call cass. He can get you a better deal and they will come with bearings and 3" x .500 studs. I believe they are around $300 plus shipping.

Obviously, you're not aware of Strange's S/T axles. S/T stands for Street/Track. I ran them in my street/strip blown Hemi Duster, and they are holding up nicely.

To be honest with you guys, I havent gottent he axle out yet, but its a Dana 60 hd out of a dodge van, and according to randys ring and pinion its got either 30 or 35 axles in it.

Its a 4:10 sure grip to.

But If its a 35 ill be stoked!!

I am aware of them......as I recall , they were pricier than Mosers when I bought mine and that was the deciding factor.
They are an option for sure.

Either one will work fine, both make high quality parts. I use Moser stuff just b/c they've always been good to me and easy to deal with. Not to mention I've worked on a few very fast cars w/ Moser filled rears.

I just pulled my Moser 35 spline axles out of my 8 3/4 that I just broke (bent the housing)...the axles look as good as the day I put them in 10 years ago . I'm happy with Moser's stuff.
